Penang going green and mean
THE Penang State Government has started the 'No Plastic Bag' campaign in July 2009 where hypermarkets and supermarkets won't be giving out plastic bags to shoppers. Instead, shoppers are urged to bring their own shopping bags or pay 20 sen per bag. The monies collected will be channelled to the Partners Against Poverty (PAP) whereby the hardcore poor will benefit.Click here (5xmom, You Tube, 03.01.10) to view clip on the campaign.
