GEORGE TOWN'S City Hall, a two-storey Victorian-style building at the Esplanade, has significant historical and architectural value. Opened in 1906, it was specifically built to house council and municipal offices in the early days. It was one of the first buildings to be electrified, fitted with lights and fans, in Penang.
