THIS temple, with its current building dating back to 1895, is dedicated to the patron saint of the seafarers Ma Chor. It was a centre for the Hainanese who first settled in large numbers in Penang in the late 19th century as sailors and cooks. The building was completely renovated by craftsmen from China to celebrate its centenary in 1995.
